IMTA alum Ashton Kutcher has been working on exciting new things. He founded a company in 2000 called Katalyst and they are doing very interesting and innovative things. In a recent article called "Mr. Social: Ashton Kutcher Plans to Be the Next New-Media Mogul" written by Ellen McGrit for the magazine Fast Company, she shares the following: " The Katalyst HQ series illuminates what Kutcher's production company wants to become: not just a home for his television and movie projects but also a go-to source for brands looking to deploy what's called 'influencer marketing,' a squishy hybrid of entertainment content, advertising, and online conversation that finds its audience via video, animation, Twitter, blogs, texts, and mobile. 'Entertainment, really, is a dying industry,' says Kutcher. 'We're a balanced social-media studio, with revenue streams from multiple sources' -- film, TV, and now digital. 'For the brand stuff, we're not replacing ad agencies but working with everyone to provide content and the monetization strategies to succeed on the Web.'"
Ashton competed at IMTA in 1997 where he won the coveted title of Most Sought After Male Model! He signed with Next Models and went straight to the runways for New York's Fashion week! He then was cast in a Fox comedy called That 70's Show as the lovable Kelso! From there he's become an A-list star with movies such as What Happens in Vegas, Spread and the recent weekend box office hit Valentine's Day! His newest movie Killers is due in theaters on June 4, 2010!
